Beth Mulligan, PhD Principal + Owner
Beth is a cognitive psychologist by training, and brings to her work a deep knowledge of human thinking and behavior, and an intuitive understanding of how to turn that information into numbers that organizations can use. She is also passionate about helping community organizations thrive, and she is committed to helping them make the most of their resources through data-informed decision making. Her particular pleasure is in finding ways to answer questions like “how much of a difference are we making?” or “how can we better meet the needs of our constituency?” She derives great joy from working as a partner with clients to help make the research process painless and engaging.
Away from her desk, Beth can often be found strolling around her neighborhood with her dogs or reading the latest pick for one of her book clubs. She also knits and crochets imaginative toys for children (and sometimes her coworkers).
Education
Beth has a Ph.D. and M.A. in cognitive psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a B.A. in psychology from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. She also earned graduate certificates from CU in science and technology policy and cognitive science. Her research is published in the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making; Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory and Cognition; and Memory & Cognition.
